First Tournament Success! SHA Debate Team Earns State Qualification!

Sacred Heart Academy’s Speech and Debate team entered its first Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas tournament, marking an impressive milestone for the program. This prestigious event, which draws hundreds of students from various schools, provided an invaluable experience for SHA’s novice competitors.

Aya Belkharraz Indrissi and Chloe Kim, members of the novice Public Forum team, excelled in their performance, placing 8th overall. Their outstanding achievement earned them a half-qualification for the New York State competition, a significant accomplishment in their debut tournament.

The team’s success highlights the dedication, talent, and competitive spirit of SHA’s students, as well as the school’s commitment to fostering skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and debate. Congratulations to Aya, Chloe, and the entire Speech and Debate team on this milestone moment! We look forward to seeing their future achievements.
