At Sacred Heart Academy athletics are an important part of an individual's total educational experience. Our primary belief is that athletes are students first, and that the purpose of athletics is to foster and promote the physical, moral, mental, social and spiritual growth and well-being of each student-athlete.
 

Sacred Heart Academy's extensive Athletic Program is one of the most competitive on Long Island. Our teams consistently rank among the top teams in the Nassau-Suffolk Catholic High School Girls Athletic Association.

We offer 14 Sports with 22 Teams on various levels. Each team is supported by a highly qualified and dedicated coaching staff. Additionally, students have the opportunity to support the team in various managerial positions.

Medical Information

  • All student-athletes are required by New York State to have a current physical in order to try out and participate. At SHA we use Appryse. The physical must include the family cardiac history.
  • Student-athletes will need to place themselves on their respective team tryout roster in the Appryse system 30 days prior to the start of each season. You can do so by clicking on the "Tryouts / Activities" button in Appryse.
  • This process provides: medical clearance, parental consent and a review of your medical history

  • APPRYSE Information

    Sacred Heart Academy uses the web-based system, Appryse, to track medical history and medical forms for students.  All parents/guardians must upload medical forms and other required medical information into Appryse.  Information can be updated throughout the year as it changes.  


    All students need to be enrolled in Appryse by August 1, 2024.   


    After you are enrolled, all medical forms need to be submitted to Appryse.

  • Dominic Murray Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act

    The Dominic Murray Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act, Chapter 500 of the Laws of 2021, and Commissioner’s regulation § 136.9 are effective July 1, 2022. The Act was written to ensure that schools, students, and parents are provided with critical, lifesaving

    information on sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) risks, signs and symptoms, to ensure students at risk are evaluated prior to participation in athletics, and that SCA is immediately recognized and treated to prevent death.
