    DEBORAH SCHIFF P '00, CHAIRPERSON

    Deborah Schiff is the Executive Vice President for strategy and business development for Northwell Health’s ambulatory network. In this role, she is responsible for building the ambulatory network through physician alignment, IPA development and ambulatory site development.


    With more than 25 years of experience developing and implementing strategies to facilitate service line growth and development, as well as physician alignment, Ms. Schiff remains focused on building a network of providers and ambulatory facilities to manage the health of more than twelve million people in Northwell’s service area. A cornerstone of the ambulatory network has been strengthening and expanding relationships with the approximately 11,000 affiliated physicians serving different populations throughout the region, enhancing access and improving health outcomes.


    Ms. Schiff serves on the board of directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County and the Energeia Partnership, an organization that focuses on building regional stewardship. In addition, she has worked with the Nassau County Department of Health to address healthcare disparities in the community. 


    Ms. Schiff is a registered nurse and holds clinical and administrative degrees, including a nursing diploma from Queens Hospital Center School of Nursing and a bachelor’s degree in health administration from St. Joseph’s College.

    JENNIFER (VERITZ '88) CALABRESE, CPA, CGMA, P '20

    Jennifer Calabrese is the founder and CEO of Calabrese Consulting, LLC (“CCL”). Founded in 2012, CCL is a woman-owned, full-service accounting and advisory firm with over 40 employees, serving more than 350 clients around the world.


    While building her business, Jennifer also served as the Chief Financial Officer for uSell.com, Inc. from April 2014 through May 2018, as well as taking on the role of Executive Vice President of Finance from March 2013 through May 2018. Jennifer served as the Director of Accounting and SEC Reporting at eLandia Group, Inc., a provider of information technology products and services to small, medium-sized and large businesses and government entities, primarily in Latin America. Jennifer was the Managing Director of SEC Solutions Group, LLC, a company specializing in SEC financial reporting compliance and consulting services. From June 2004 to July 2007, Jennifer held the role of VP –Controller and Principal Accounting Officer for MKTG, Inc., and from June 2001 through 2003, Jennifer served as the Corporate Controller for United Capital Corp., a publicly traded real estate management company.


    Jennifer began her career at KPMG, LLP, where she held numerous positions, including senior audit manager. She holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and a B.A. in Psychology from Hofstra University and earned her Master of Science in Accountancy from SUNY Polytechnic. Jennifer is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and a member of both The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America.

    MARIA TORROELLA CARNEY, MD, MACP, P ‘19

    Dr. Maria Torroella Carney is a board-certified internist, geriatrician, and palliative care physician with clinical, research, administrative, and public health leadership experience. She has been at Northwell Health since 2012 and is currently Medical Director for Continuing Care and Chief of the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative

    Medicine. She is Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell.


    Dr. Carney received her medical degree at New York Medical College, carried out her residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill/Cornell Medical Center and completed a research-oriented fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She served as commissioner of the Nassau County Department of Health on Long Island, New York serving a population of 1.3 million residents from 2008-2011.


    She has dedicated most of her career to the care and advocacy for older adults, those with serious illness and vulnerable populations.

    MARYANN (HEALY '80) FLETCHER

    Maryann Healy Fletcher brings more than 35 years of education experience to the Sacred Heart Academy Board of Trustees. Maryann’s experience includes classroom teaching, and special education through administrative leadership. She served as Principal at Hauppauge Middle School, focusing on staff development to ensure the best outcomes for teachers and students in the changing academic environment.


    Maryann’s results-oriented leadership guided the school through building and technological updates, as well as changes to state-wide curriculum, making certain that Hauppauge aligned with current best practices. In addition, Maryann served as a member of the Advisory Board for Hofstra University’s Center for Secondary Supervisors and Administrators for 24 years and was a member of the Tri State Consortium Middle Level Principal Study group that focused on Professional Learning and Administrative Rounds. Her professional experience includes many other regional and state-wide committees on education.


    Maryann earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University, and a Master of Science in Education and Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from Hofstra University.

    S. Suzanne Franck CSJ, Ph.D. has been in the education field for 45 years, teaching junior high and high school as well as ministering at St. Joseph’s University as a professor of Religious Studies, Campus Minister, Associate Academic Dean and Founder/Director of the Academic Advisement Center. In addition, S. Suzanne ministered in parishes as Pastoral Associate and Youth/Young Adult Director. Other adventures include ministering at Christa House, a home for the dying poor and coordinator of an International Young Adult Pilgrimage in France. 


    S. Suzanne continues to teach at St. Joseph’s University and serves as Community Life Coordinator for the Sisters of St. Joseph in the areas of Suffolk County and Puerto Rico. S. Suzanne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from St. John’s University, Master of Science in Science Education from Queens College, Master of Arts in Theology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and M. Phil and Ph.D. in Contemporary Systematic Theology from Fordham University.

    IRENA GECAS-MCCARTHY P '21

    Irena Gecas-McCarthy is a Principal in Deloitte & Touche’s Banking and Capital Markets practice focused on governance, risk, and regulatory matters and is a senior Risk and Financial Advisory partner. She also serves as the lead engagement partner for many of the firm’s large-scale, multi-year implementation, transformation projects. Irena serves as the leader of the US Financial Services Industry Center for Regulatory Strategies (the Center), administering the firm’s eminence, points of views, and tracking of regulatory developments. The Center is a source of critical insight and advice designed to help clients anticipate change and respond with confidence to the strategic and aggregate impact of both national and international regulatory policy. Prior to Deloitte & Touche, she worked as a Commissioned Senior Examiner and Relationship Manager for the Federal Reserve Bank of NY.


    Irena received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Dayton and a Masters of International Management/Finance from the University of Denver. Irena and her husband, Michael, are parents of Julia ’21. They reside in Garden City and are parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church

    ALEXANDRA GUILLAUME, MD '94

    Dr. Guillaume is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH). She is the Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Center at SBUH, which specializes in the comprehensive evaluation of GI motility disorders. Dr. Guillaume enjoys sharing her knowledge and empowering others through formal and informal teaching. She has given motility lectures both locally and internationally. Internally, Dr. Guillaume has a strong interest in medical education and improving the pipeline for underrepresented minorities in medicine. Dr. Guillaume has a special interest in diversity initiatives particularly at the high school and undergraduate level. She serves on the executive subcommittee for admission to the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, and is also the Faculty Advisor to the School of Medicine’s Pre-Medical Access to the Clinical Experience (PACE) program.


    Outside of SBUH, Dr. Guillaume continues her commitment to education and health equity by serving on several national committees of the American College of Gastroenterology centered on educationand professionalism. She is a co-founder of the national non-profit organization, The Association of Black Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists whose mission is to promote health equity in Black communities, advance science, and develop the careers of Black gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and scientists. Dr. Guillaume is a native New Yorker. She is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences of New York University, and, Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Dr. Guillaume completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York University Medical Center and her GI fellowship at SBUH.

    Thomas Halloran is President & CEO of Fidelis Care, a health plan subsidiary of Centene Corporation. Fidelis Care serves more than 2.4 million members across all 62 counties of New York State. In addition, Mr. Halloran is a Senior Vice President, Markets of Centene. Prior to his current role, Mr. Halloran served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fidelis Care for more than two years, with responsibility for overseeing provider operations, finance, IT, strategic planning, and product development. He joined Fidelis Care as Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Before joining Fidelis Care, Mr. Halloran spent 20 years providing financial, strategic, and operational consulting services to a wide range of companies, including health care organizations. Mr. Halloran came to Fidelis Care from the Huron Consulting Group in New York City, where he was one of the founding partners. He was also a partner in the New York City office of Andersen LLP.


    Mr. Halloran received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Iona University in New Rochelle, NY, and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Halloran serves on the inaugural board of Iona University’s School of Health and Sciences. He also received the Frederick Douglass award for Fidelis’ partnership with the New York Urban League. Mr. Halloran is based in Fidelis Care’s New York City office.

    S. Marie has taught high school since 1984 and has been a lecturer at Saint Joseph's University and instructor in the Lay Ecclesial Ministry Program for the Diocese of Brooklyn. 


    She is the Director of Young Adult Ministry and Vocational Discernment for the Sisters of St. Joseph as well as the Director of Campus Ministry at St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn Campus, and Founder and Director of the Christus Vivit Community located in Jamaica, Queens.

    Marmeline Petion-Midy, is Vice President, Head of Stress Testing and Analytics at American Express. She joined Amex back in March of 2020 as VP, Investment Optimization for the Global Consumer Services Group, where she partnered with the Marketing Organization to drive efficient, profitable consumer acquisition. She then moved to lead the P&L Management team for US Consumer as VP, BU FP&A supporting the US Consumer Business, providing insights to Senior Leaders as they look to execute on strategies and meet both short-term and long-term goals. In her current role, Marmeline is responsible for regulatory stress testing activities for American Express.


    Marmeline has over 20 years of experience in Finance with various companies. Prior to joining American Express, Marmeline was VP, Business Controller at OppenheimerFunds responsible for new and existing product pricing, product profitability and FP&A activities for the Sales and Marketing organizations. With the acquisition of OppenheimerFunds by Invesco, Marmeline was tapped to be Head of FP&A at Invesco supporting the Global Marketing team. Prior to OppenheimerFunds/Invesco, Marmeline was a Sr. Analyst with General Motors’ Treasurer Office in New York.


    Marmeline holds a BA in Economics and MBA in Finance both from Cornell University. She is currently a Council Member of S.C. Johnson College of Business at Cornell University and is the 2018 recipient of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management’s Wilbur Parker Distinguished Alumni Award. Marmeline is also a Board Member of The Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to make Catholic School Education on Long Island affordable for all families.


    Marmeline is a mom to two daughters, Cayla (SHA class of 2022) and Kira (SHA Class of 2024) and reside in Levittown with her husband Mario. She is fluent in French, an avid soccer fan, loves traveling and can be caught with a good book in her spare time.

    Domenique Camacho Moran is a Partner at Farrell Fritz, P.C., and leads the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Ms. Moran has represented employers—from startups to large corporations—in connection with all types of employment litigation, including matters arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the New York Human Rights Law. 


    As lead counsel, Domenique has represented management in jury trials and hearings in federal and state courts, arbitrations and administrative proceedings. She uses her extensive knowledge of employment law to help business owners comply with the many federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations that govern the employment relationship. She often provides companies with advice on the practical and legal implications of everyday employment decisions. Additionally, Domenique regularly prepares and reviews employee handbooks and personnel policies, negotiates and drafts separation agreements, and provides guidance to employers faced with reorganizations and reductions in workforce. She conducts sexual harassment training for local and national employers that include investment banks, professional sports organizations, retail operations, manufacturing companies, and food service providers.


    A dynamic speaker, Domenique has significant experience providing training on a myriad of employment-related topics including effective management techniques, human resources fundamentals, litigation avoidance, preventing workplace harassment and discrimination, conducting workplace investigations, and diversity awareness. Ms. Moran is a Dean’s List graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a graduate of University of Notre Dame Law School. Prior to joining Farrell Fritz, she was a shareholder at Littler Mendelson, P.C.

    Laura Roche ’88 is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Roystone Capital, a multi-billion-dollar alternative asset management firm in New York. Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Gabelli School at Fordham University and a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business. In addition, she is a Certified Public Accountant. In 2015 she was named a Hedge Fund Rising Star by Institutional Investor Magazine.


    Laura began her career at Ernst & Young in Audit in the Investment Partnership Group where she audited hedge funds. Immediately following Ernst & Young she worked in Primer Brokerage at Morgan Stanley where she was a Senior Associate and team leader responsible for client service for hedge funds. After several years at Morgan Stanley she decided to combine her knowledge of finance and entrepreneurial spirit to become one of the founding partners of a new hedge fund launch. She has since been a founding member of four funds. 


    At Roystone Capital she is one of the original team members and serves as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Upon joining Roystone, she was responsible for fully developing and implementing the firm’s financial and business operations, as well as the infrastructure, technology and cyber-security platform and business continuity and disaster recovery plans. She has also been chiefly involved in the creation and implementation of Roystone’s comprehensive compliance program.


    Laura loves education from both the perspective of learning as well as teaching and served as an adjunct professor at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University where she taught an introduction to business class to freshmen. She also mentored several of her students as they were obtaining internships during their college years and after as they moved onto their post graduate career lives. Giving back has always been important to her and she dedicates time and resources to causes that she cares about. Laura has been involved with Sacred Heart by participating in Career Day as an alumna, she serves on the Advisory Board of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and is the Treasurer of Stoked, a not for profit organization serving at risk youth in New York and Los Angeles.

  • CASEY (WHITE '99) SPEZZANO

    CASEY (WHITE '99) SPEZZANO

    In her role as Head of US Flow Collateral Trading, Casey is responsible for funding the US broker dealer and managing the USD balance sheet. She trades the front end of the Treasury curve in both cash and repo, while leading one of the most profitable desks within the broker dealer. Prior to her current position, Casey gained her experience as a fixed income trader for 10 years, focusing on repo, short-dated treasury securities and commercial paper. 


    As a member of the US Management Committee, Casey, along with fellow senior leadership, is responsible for the governance, strategic management and oversight of the NatWest Markets businesses in the US. Additionally, Casey sits on the Board of Directors for NatWest Markets Securities Inc., whose responsibilities include the oversight of the business and risk and control environment of NWMSI, as well as setting, implementing and monitoring business strategy.


    As one of the most senior women in the U.S. business, Casey has taken an active role in creating and strengthening the talent development offerings across the organization, and is Chair of the US Learning Council, sits on the Global Learning Council and is a member of the US Women’s Network Steering Committee. Outside of the office, Casey remains active by playing golf, tennis and paddle while raising her three young children with her husband in Darien, Connecticut.
