Welcome to the Sacred Heart Academy website! This is a place to discover the unique mission and culture that has made Sacred Heart Academy a recognized school of excellence for over 70 years.
As an all-girls Catholic college preparatory school, rooted in the spirituality and tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Sacred Heart fills an important role on Long Island. The all-girls environment provides unique learning opportunities that cultivate confidence and leadership skills, and encourages our students to “take the lead.”
Each day, over 600 girls learn and grow in a community that supports them to become their best selves - and it shows. The Class of 2024 earned $70M college scholarships in the areas of academics, athletics and the arts. Our athletic teams are consistently ranked among the best on Long Island and our student-artists and dancers excel in local and national competitions. Our Bloomberg Finance Lab and state-of-the-art Science Research Lab prepare students for competitive opportunities and provide real-world experiences. Above all, SHA students are critical thinkers who actively integrate their education into their lives and routinely find ways to make a difference through their commitment to community service and social justice.
I am proud to serve as the president of Sacred Heart Academy. I love hearing from our alumnae who return to network with our current students, and share their personal and professional success stories. I love to witness the excitement of our prospective students and families, as I know that Sacred Heart will become home for many of your daughters.
I hope that you will come to learn more about Sacred Heart Academy. If you are a current student or family, we hope you find information to enrich your SHA experience. And, if you are an alumna or just an interested viewer, we know you will be inspired by the work of Sacred Heart Academy.
An all-girls, academically-rigorous environment that emphasizes leadership, empowerment, self-confidence and curiosity.
Welcome to Sacred Heart Academy!
Since our founding
over 70 years ago, more than
12,000 SHA women have come together to learn and grow academically, personally and spiritually throughout their high school years in an all-girls, academically-rigorous environment that emphasizes leadership, empowerment, self-confidence and curiosity.
SHA students are critical thinkers who build enduring relationships with other girls filled with purpose and integrity. SHA's close-knit community creates a bond of sisterhood that girls carry with them for a lifetime. A feeling of belonging and inclusiveness is felt in every aspect of their daily lives.
Rooted in the mission of Jesus, we are committed as one
CSJ family to live and work with inclusive love to bring about unity and reconciliation of all creation and all people with God and with one another. Unity, reconciliation, inclusive love, peace and justice.
As a community, we educate both the heart and the mind of our students through the values of hospitality, excellence, accountability, respect, reverence, truthfulness, and trust.
Sacred Heart is accredited by the
