Rising seniors Alanna Mahar and Elizabeth Musso have been invited to study under different mentors as part of Hofstra University's Summer Science Research Program (HUSSRP).
During this intensive 8-week program, Alanna will be studying pigment in modern and fossilized oyster shells in the combined chemistry/geology labs of Drs. Bret Bennington and Sabrina Sobel. Elizabeth will work with NeuroSkyEEG, an app that measures raw brain waves, and used that information to analyze user attention rates. Her research will be mentored by behavioral computer scientist, Dr. Oscar Pinero.
Both girls will have the opportunity to develop independent research projects, engage in extracurricular activities, training, and more.
